Katey was ready to start a Christian transitional program. We were able to come alongside her, and provide financial support to help keep her safe and cover living expenses until her enrollment began.
We are thrilled to share that Katey is now thriving in the program and is grateful for your contributions in helping her build a bridge towards long-term life transformation!

Kim is a devoted single mother of a wonderful boy with special needs. Unfortunately, due to a job loss they were struggling to make ends meet. But with your faithful donations, we were able to provide them with the support they needed to keep their housing.
Our dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to help Kim find new employment and provided her with spiritual support that helped her get through this challenging time. Kim has been an active member of our Bible study, and has become a dear friend to many on our team. We are proud of her strength and perseverance! *On the photo: Kim with our Exec. Director Kristina Earl is a 2x Iraqi war veteran, and has been with Lucia since high school. This beautiful couple is now expecting their 5th baby boy! We were blessed to walk alongside them as they had to relocate to another place, and secure a good home for their family to live in.
This housing opportunity was a blessing, but it came with unexpected expenses that they were not able to cover on their own. We wanted to make sure they do not face homelessness again as they did in the past. With your donations we were able to cover their move-in costs, and our volunteers blessed their home with furniture and prayer! When "Felicity" came to us, she had recently gotten herself and her child out of an unsafe and abusive situation. We discovered that she had to start her life all over as a single mother. She did not have a car or a home of her own; she was staying in a domestic violence shelter with her child. Determined to get their lives back on track, "Felicity" started working toward furthering her education so she can start a career that will secure an adequate income for her family.
We were able to provide funds for her to obtain necessary certificates in nursing and CPR. A wonderful supporter Penny donated her car to us, which we fixed up and blessed "Felicity" with, so she can go to work and take care of her child. We are still working alongside this family toward their next step - housing. We are looking forward to sharing another miracle soon, as their story of restoration continues! *Real identity is not disclosed to protect client's and her child's safety. Claudia is taking care of her 94 year old mom, and unfortunately they both got a bad case of Covid a couple months ago. This prevented Claudia from going to work, which snowballed into them getting behind on rent. Trying to recover from sickness while making sure her mom is taken care of as well, Claudia battled a fear of eviction and didn't know where to turn for help. She found us at the Friday outreach and shared her story with us.
We were able to cover the rent they missed and they were caught up with their bills. Claudia recovered well and received spiritual support from our faithful prayer warriors. They're so grateful to be healthy and safe with a roof over their heads! In the photo: Claudia with our exec. director Kristina.
This beautiful lady, Lorrain, has been helping others for many years through nonprofit work, and she stumbled into our outreach as God lead her. Before she even figured out what we were doing there, we started fellowshipping! Lorrain opened up about a tough situation she is in due to her rent unexpectedly going up. She was behind on payments, worried about eviction. She would never plan to reach out for help because she was never on the side that needed help, rather she would always assist others.
We knew immediately why God brought her to us, it was His answer to her prayer. We laughed and praised Jesus for how He ordained all of this to meet her need. We started working together and before you know it, we were able to help catch her up with rent. She is such a giver and has since started donating to our ministry for the needs of others! This cheerful lady, Christaline, came so close to starting a new life in another area by enrolling in a program where she could also work to help others get back on their feet, while having her own place as part of compensation. In the meantime, Christaline was sleeping in her vehicle.
She was so excited to enroll in this program and start working, but a particular debt kept her from moving forward with this opportunity. We were able to help her cover the amount needed to enroll. She is now working for the transitional program and has her own place to stay on the campus. She is so grateful for your support of her new chance in life!
This is a very difficult post for us to write, as we lost our dear friend and a miracle, Chuck. We've known Chuck for 7 years and served him while he was homeless. Our volunteers loved seeing his face at outreaches every week, he was always polite and kind; he loved to participate in our Bible studies. He became a friend to many in our organization.
Specifically our volunteers Eric and Debbie have been helping Chuck navigate out of homelessness, and in 2020 we moved him into his own apartment in Livermore. Chuck has been dealing with many health issues, and most of 2022 he has spent in and out of the hospital. His passing away still caught us off guard, we will miss his presence and insight at our Bible studies. Our volunteers are clearing out his apartment and taking care of his belongings according to his will. We love you Chuck and hope to see you in heaven one day! Maurice was fighting homelessness for 3 years while living in his car. Due to disability his income became very limited, and his options quickly dissipated. Instead of despair, he endured this season of his life with joyfulness and gratitude.
CityServe was able to find a perfect housing opportunity for Maurice, and we were so excited to partner to cover his move-in costs. We always enjoy Maurice's cheerfulness and thankfulness. Our volunteers gathered furniture and household items to help make Maurice's apartment a home. He said: "I'm so happy I have a roof over my head! I'm glad I don't have to spend another winter in my car, and my kid gets to visit me in my home!" Today we mourned the loss of one of our miracles, Beverly, but we celebrated her life with other service providers and her friends. Sadly we don't have Beverly's photo, she was not a fan of taking pictures. We wish we could show you her beautiful blue eyes and her smile!
We met Beverly a few years ago at one of our outreaches, she was homeless, yet still working a job and providing excellent service with a smile. With her enduring and positive attitude, you would never know this woman was homeless. That is sadly the reality of a lot of our miracles here in the Tri-Valley. Many neighbors are unaware of just how many are struggling or without a home right here in our backyard. 4 months ago a housing opportunity opened up for Beverly, and we teamed up with CityServe to cover her deposit for a tiny home at Goodness Village. She was SO HAPPY to have her own tiny home! She passed away unexpectedly and well before her time, but we thank God she was surrounded by friends, she was safe and sound, and she enjoyed her home for the last few months. We are grateful to God for her life, and that we were able to be a small part of her story. Thank you all for supporting our neighbors in need by joining our mission. Their lives matter, and Beverly was loved and supported because of caring people like you. Ana Maria faced a crisis situation as she was waiting for government to process her paperwork for disability. This process was taking longer than usual and it impacted her income in a great way; she was not able to cover her rent. She was facing a desperate situation and did not want to lose the roof over her head. Thoughts of becoming homeless as a senior person with a disability without a vehicle were devastating for her.
She was referred to our outreach, but as soon as she met us and found out more about our mission, she signed up her $1/month to help others in need! She also joined our Bible study and started volunteering. We were able to cover Ana Maria's rent to ensure we prevent homelessness, as she worked with other agencies to sort out her government paperwork. Ana Maria said she is so grateful to our donors who made her miracle possible, and she is blessed to contribute to others' miracles from now on as well! *In the photo, our volunteer Jeff helping Ana Maria with grocery donations Last winter Cindy lost her husband, and her 3 children lost their father due to medical complications. Devastated, this family had to figure out how to move forward without their provider. As they were getting stabilized and getting help from a local shelter, we were contacted to facilitate a long-term housing solution.
As soon we found the perfect place to rent, we reached out to our partner Missing Man Ministry, whose mission is to help widows. With this awesome partnership, we were able to ensure Cindy's entire move-in costs were covered, and their place is fully furnished! Our volunteers spent time with this family in prayer and ministry as they stepped into this new chapter of their lives. New life is difficult, but possible, especially when you have a loving and supportive community around you. Cindy said that not only did she lose her husband, but he was also her best friend. She is now learning to lean on God and is so grateful for our supportive community that has carried her through this tragedy. She is feeling hopeful and is extremely grateful! *In the photo: Cindy and her daughter. Jessica is a young lady who has been working and sustaining herself, while helping support her family members who are dealing with severe illness. Her strength and care of others has been nothing short of admirable.
But losing her job recently came as a shock. Jessica found herself behind on rent and unable to figure out how to keep the roof over her head, let alone help cover the medical expenses for her family members. While she focused on looking for another job, we were able to step in to make sure she doesn't lose her housing. We covered her rent, and she started another job at a different company. We are blessed to be able to stand in the gap for our neighbors in need, because it's much better and easier to prevent homelessness, than it is to help someone get out of it. Your $1/month donations make a world of difference to our neighbors in need! THANK YOU for being a miracle maker This beautiful family of 4 was facing a desperate situation here in the Bay Area, while at the same time having a great opportunity to relocate to the East Coast. Nay and Nate (mom and sad) had family connections and employment waiting for them. However, relocating with kids and dogs across the country was an incredibly daunting task they were not able to handle on their own. They were stuck. We partnered with other organizations to make this happen. Seek&Save ended up coordinating this move, and we were able to help financially to make this miracle happen! We are so blessed to be a part of this family's new beginning.
Due to living in her car, Sienna's hair was so matted in the back of her head that she had dreadlocks. So our supporter Christopher blessed Sienna with a beautiful haircut!
Photos show her "before" and "after". We have enrolled Sienna into a Christian women's program, where she can rebuild herself in her new identity in Christ. This is a miracle in the making, please keep Sienna in your prayers. She was so refreshed by her new haircut, clothes and friendships she gained thru Monthly Miracles. She could not stop smiling from ear to ear, she is so grateful to have this kind of support and love! *In the photos: Sienna with hairdresser Christopher and Monthly Miracles executive director Kristina This young man holds a special place in our hearts, his name is Jesus. Hardworking and kind, but found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time while on a day trip to San Francisco, where he got mugged and badly beaten up by a gang. This took him out of work for a while and he got behind on his rent, facing eviction. Thanks to our donors we were able to prevent homelessness for him and cover the rent expenses!
Jesus is now working again and able to sustain himself. He is so grateful to our volunteers and donors who were there for him when he needed it the most. His positive attitude and smile are contagious! "I just wanted to thank you again for being there for me when I needed it the most, I'm so grateful!" We have known Johnny for over 6 years now, he frequents our outreaches and has been a regular and wonderful contributor at our Bible studies. He has become a good friend to many of our volunteers. We had the privilege to walk alongside Johnny as he came out of addiction and overcame so many life obstacles.
Johnny had already received a huge miracle about 5 years ago, when he got miraculously healed after we prayed over him! The doctors gave him a very grim prognosis when they found many blood clots in his lungs, only to find a month later that all the clots miraculously dissipated, thanks be to God! Last month through CityServe and Livermore Housing Authority, Johnny got an amazing opportunity for an apartment. We are so excited and grateful that our friend will be starting a new chapter of his life! We helped him move in and furnished his place along with our partner ministry Tri-Valley Seek & Save. He is now adjusting to having his own place after a long time of surviving on the streets. He still frequents our Bible studies and is helping others who are struggling! *In the photos: Johnny with our volunteers Eric, Max and Bob We met Cristina through a referral from a local domestic violence shelter. After losing her job, Cristina got behind on her bills, including her car, which got repossessed. In the meantime, she was proactively searching for a new job, and she got an amazing employment opportunity.
But she again faced a big obstacle, she desperately needed her vehicle back in order to make it to her new job. In the meantime, Cristina was taking two buses to work every day, working 6 days a week and taking care of her daily errands at the shelter. She knew this schedule was not going to be sustainable, especially knowing that she only had room in the shelter until October. We started working on a plan to get her car back, and because of your donations we were able to cover the fees. We also wanted to help her get her own housing, which she shortly found after she got her car back! We were able to help her move into her apartment and helped furnish the place. Cristina's life was so miraculously touched in such a short period of time! Just a couple months ago she was jobless, carless, living in a shelter, wondering how to get out of this situation. She is so grateful for the support she received from our volunteers and donors, who gave her the resources to get back on her feet! *In the photo: Cristina with our CFO volunteer Chuck We had a great time getting to know Benaiah, who needed help relocating to another area, so he can be reunited with his family. Through Cornerstone at the Friday outreach we were able to bless him with a bicycle.
We're excited for Ben's new beginning and our team is covering him in prayers! Tyrone (23) and his mom Elizabeth (56) found themselves homeless after taking care of a family member with severe cancer. Their entire savings and efforts went toward restoration that unfortunately never happened. They had to start their lives again from scratch, and they found our outreach after our volunteer Corinne had met Tyrone on the street and helped him get a meal. Both Elizabeth and Tyrone got jobs, but they had to spend almost everything they earned on hotels, transportation and living expenses. Getting housing looked like a distant dream, they were tired but never lost hope. It was always refreshing to talk to them because they remained positive and were open to any possibilities. Partnered with Tri-Valley Seek&Save, we worked together to look for any housing opportunities. A great local apartment rental unit was provided in partnership with a government agency, and we were able to move them in, furnish their place, pray over their new home and celebrate their new beginning! Tyrone had a message for our volunteers donors and supporters. “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, 'Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow'—when you now have it with you.” Proverbs 3:27-28 *In the photo is our volunteer Corinne with Elizabeth and Tyrone Lydia is a single mom, taking care of her high school aged daughter and a newborn baby girl. They were about to lose their current housing, and were facing homelessness if they didn't receive help.
Even though Lydia is a diligent worker, they did not have sufficient savings to enter into a new lease and could not cover their move-in expenses. She needed help finding an apartment unit that is close to her work and childcare. We were able to help find the right unit and we covered the move-in costs! Our volunteers helped them move and we provided household items and furnishing they needed in their new home. We want to thank our partner Arukah House for contributing! Lydia said: "Thank you for everything. Words can't even explain. This is such a blessing and a huge weight lifted. God is good." "Carry one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 |
