He was known as "Crazy Joe" in Livermore because people thought he was out of his mind. A lot of times he was "too much" even for the homeless community...
We've been serving him for several years, he was always getting into trouble, high on meth and many gave up on him, but not God. Every time we saw him at our outreach we called him JOSEPH (biblical meaning: To Increase). We refused to speak death over him. We saw him as a man with a purpose, who has value and whom God can redeem. We cannot tell you of countless prayers we've prayed for him and over him. Fast forward a couple years and Joseph is now clean and sober, working 2 jobs and his family connections are restored. The BEFORE photo is from early 2019 with our executive director Kristina. This is why we will NEVER give up on our unsheltered neighbors! We see way too many miracles and we will not stop. We are so incredibly proud of Joseph and how dedicated he's been to his recovery. Jesus said: "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Matthew 25:35-40 ESV
