“Can I Come Back?”

When Kenisha, a single mom and charter school employee, received an eviction notice, she feared losing more than just housing, she feared losing hope.

Because she doesn’t get paid during school breaks, she fell behind. But a new contract with more hours and a raise brought renewed possibility. She also felt stirred to relaunch her side business to help make ends meet.

Yet what she needed most was spiritual.

Kenisha shared how she met Jesus at 15 and once boldly shared her faith. But over time, distractions and discouragement crept in. “Sometimes I battle with myself and my flesh,” she said, asking through tears, “Can I come back?”

Yes, she can and she did. And she didn’t want to leave.

In a powerful moment of prayer, she was reminded she is sealed in Christ. The calling over her life, as an evangelist, was confirmed, and she left knowing God hadn’t let go.
